Canonical Injuries, Illnesses, and Emotional Upsets
compiled by Cami, Alicia Ann Fox, Helen Patrick, Laura Petix, Judith Proctor, Steve Rogerson, and S.E. Thompson.Do you write h/c, and want the "hurt" to be canonical? Perhaps you want to have one of your characters sporting scars, and need to know who was hurt, and when, and where. Maybe you think Avon finally went crazy because he'd been bashed over the head just once too often, and need evidence to support your theory. Here it is.
Before the series started....
....these things had happened.
- Blake's brother and sister were killed by the Federation.
- Travis lost an arm and an eye at Blake's hands pre-series, after he shot Blake in the leg.
- Blake was conditioned by the Federation and his memory wiped.
- Avon was shot by a blackmarket visa dealer, and he believed that his lover Anna had been killed.
- Gan's woman was killed.
- The Federation tried to condition Vila several times, but did not succeed.
- Jenna's mother was possibly killed by the Federation.
- Cally had been exiled from her home planet of Auron; then the rebels on Saurian Major with whom she worked were all killed by the Federation.
- Tarrant was abandoned by his brother Deeta, and deserted from SpaceCommand.
- Servalan was abandoned by her lover, Don Keller.
- Dayna's mother was killed and her father was blinded.
- Soolin's family were murdered when she was a child.
After capture, in the holding cells, and on the London, there were no doubtample opportunities for all sorts of nasty things to happen to thecharacters, but we are not shown any, except for Sub-Commander Raiker's sexual harrassment of Jenna. Ditto for Cally on Saurian Major, though we do know all of her compatriots were killed. Not to mention the emotionaltraumas of this period.
