Basic Systems

asymetric thrust computer--part of Liberator's control system.

hull sensors--part of Liberator's systems, presumably to detect things outside the ship. One of the earliest systems to show damage in "Terminal." "Inboard sensors" are also mentioned.

diagnostic analyser--Liberator medical equipment.

Defense Systems

Liberator had "battle" and "navigation" computers. Strategy computers are mentioned in "Deathwatch," possibly referring to the battle computers.
The battle and navigation computers may share some functions. In "Dawn of the Gods," the flight predictor is used. It presumably helped calculate the "theoretical projection" that the navigation computers used in "The Web" (which may be similar to the "blind readings" the London used in "Spacefall").

detector shield--disguised Liberator from Federation sensors. Avon unveiled thisinnovation in "Trial," but in subsequent episodes they lacked the parts to keep it running, a good thing because otherwise there would have been no dramatic tension at all. Later, theFederation manufactured their own, so the advantage for Liberator was somewhat less.

force wall--Liberator's defense mechanism. The crew switched it on and off in a fight, suggesting that the power drain of this device was considerable. It's difficult tounderstand why it was necessary for the switch for the force wall to be located down by the flight deck couch, rather than nearer to the consoles. Speculation: I think the System designed things with some kind of "logic" that didn't take everything in to account, such as the way the Neutron blasters had to be cleared before firing; thus wasting valuable battle time.

neutron blasters--Liberator's main weapons. They had to be "cleared" before firing by activating the neutron flare shield, which served to heighten tension in battle scenes."Seekers" were used in "Redemption," though they were not described.

(1) There is no connection made between the two actions, ie one doesn't cause the other. If raising the flare shield cleared the blasters, then there would be no need for a "clear" command. The neutron blasters are obviously some kind or radiation-based weapon, so the flare shield would be some extra protection for the crew whenever they were fired. (2) Seekers are presumably missiles - in "Redemption", Orac scrambles the missile system of a sister ship to DSV2. Presumably the ships are identical, therefore the Liberator has a missile system too, which was either never mentioned/used, or were the seeker system. On the other hand, it seems the other DSV may have been superior to DSV, since it travels faster than the Liberator can, so therefore it may have been better in other respects, such as having a bigger weapons fit-out.

Speed of the Liberator
ZEN: Information. Sensors register secondary launch, a space vehicle in pursuit. Speed, Standard by Fourteen. ("Redemption"--the sister ship is travelling at Standard by 14.)

[Liberator flight deck. Landing module on screen]
SERVALAN: What is that?
ZEN: Detector scan reveal it to be a high technology space cruiser. [Jarvik laughs] Hardened self-healing Herculanium hull and superstructure, advanced Time Distort facility, speed range to Standard by twelve point two zero three. [Jarvik laughs] Computer assessment of weapons reveals the craft to have an assault capacity marginally greater than that of the Liberator. [Jarvik laughs again]
("Harvest of Kairos"--Zen detects a vessel marginally better than the Liberator; it is travelling at just over Standard by 12, so we can assume Standard by 12 is the maximum speed of the Liberator.)
