By now Heero had settled down a little from his "I will eliminate all obstacles" days, and he had asked Relena to marry him. (I guess all of her stalking paid off.) As the future King of the Sanc Kingdom he promised Relena that he wouldn't fight in any battles that he would have less than a 75% survival rate. This of course was a big compromise for "Mr. self detonate," but it made Relena happy.
Relena started preparing the castle for her visitors, wondering who Erica's fiancé was. "She said it was someone we know," she thought out loud.
Just then the doorbell rang, she loved visitors so she ran into the front room to see who it was, but was only a delivery. "Whoa! flowers for me?" she said as her huge smile quickly faded.
On the delivery slip were the words "To be set up in Erica's room." There were enough roses in every color to fill a whole room. She showed them to Erica's room. After they left Relena was again disappointed as she read the card, it said, "Love,...Me."
"Who is this guy?" she said "Who is my best friend going to marry?"
Heero arrived and made his presence known to Relena. "Relena! I'll kill you now!" It was a sick joke between them.
She ran down stairs, gave him a funny look, and said, "Why can't you send ME flowers?"
A startled Heero replied "Uh... Um... Well I... I love you Relena." That, of course was a lot coming from him!
She ran up and hugged him, shocked. As he held her tight against him, she whispered "I love you too." Just then the doorbell rang. This time Relena didn't budge.
Heero turned around, and said "Duo! I didn't know you were visiting, you should have..." Just then Erica walked in, and Heero's jaw dropped. "called," he finished. "Your best friend and mine?" he managed to get out, turning back to Relena.
"Surprise!" Erica and Duo chimed together.
Relena grabbed Erica and said "We have to talk!" They ran upstairs to leave the guys to discuss "The flower thing."
Erica walked into her room, and her face lit up. She yelled down to Duo, "What, no chocolates too?"
"Hey, remember those flowers once we're married!" He shouted back.
Chills ran down Erica's spine. "Married" she whispered to herself.
"SO!" Relena broke into Erica's daydream. "You want to tell me all about it?"
They sat down and Erica told Relena everything.
"Anyways, we wanted to surprise you two!" Erica continued.
"Well what does your brother Sage think about it, Erica?"
"He was mad at me at first, you know how much he likes Rowen. After I broke up with him, I secretly started seeing Duo. I felt bad for Rowen, but now he has a girl who adores him."
"Does Sage still want you to be Queen?"
"Yes, and he really wants Duo to be King, he thinks his great personality will win the people over."
"I guess Heero doesn't have a King's personality" Relena said with disappointment in her voice.
"Oh Relena, he has changed a lot, and he does know how to be a leader!" Erica finished the conversation.
The girls were about to leave when Anubis broke through the bedroom window. (He was still evil Anubis.) He had his armor on, but not his helmet. Relena was frozen, but Erica knew exactly who he was. "Get out of my way girl, it's not you I want!" He said to Relena. She was too scared to be insulted.
Erica grabbed her, and pushed her out of the door saying "Relena go downstairs and get Duo! Tell him Anubis from the Netherworld is here!" Relena was gone, and the two were alone.
"Erica my dear, Talpa wants you to be a princess at his castle."
"Anubis, please don't do this."
"Erica, Talpa said that you would be my princess!" He grabbed her, dipped her, and kissed her.
Erica resisted "No please! I...only...love...Duo,"
A single tear falls from her eye as she blows a kiss into the wind. "Duo" she whispered as they disappeared.
Duo runs in to find a single rose, and a piece of paper as blue as a teardrop, on it was a kiss, and it said, "Love...Me."
You could hear Duo scream throughout the entire Kingdom. "Nooooooooooooooooo!"
He turned around, tears streaming down his face. "Heero! Where are the Gundams?" He was the God of Death once again. That was something he tried to mask since he met the peace loving Erica.
"They are in my secret storage space, we have no time to waste!" Heero said. He turned and kissed a crying Relena goodbye.
"Heero, I've had many girls pretend to be my friend just to be near me, but Erica is the real thing, she is my best friend! Please bring her back to...." She was crying too hard to finish.
From his Gundam, Duo called Sage. He told Sage the whole story. "We will be there shortly." Duo said.
"We'll be ready to go when you get here." Sage said, fighting back tears. Sage hung up the phone.
"What is it Sage?" said the King and Queen of the Halo Kingdom at the same time.
"Um, it was Ryo, he wants to have a Ronin reunion." Sage stuttered.
"Okay son, tell your sister that we love her very much!" the Queen said.
"Mom how did you..." Sage was cut off by the Queen.
"Sage, you are so protective of your little sister, you two have the same look when you talk about each other! It is so special." Before he left she added, "And I hope to see your girlfriend Tracy around here more when you get back!"
"No problem Mom!" Sage said with a smile.
